Representatives of the scientific staff
The representative of the scientific staff is elected every three years by the scientific staff of the respective institute and confirmed by the President of the Max Planck Society. She/he represents the interests and concerns of all scientists, both towards the institute management and in the respective section (BMS, CPTS, HSS) of the MPG, in which she/he acts for a three-year period.
Within the respective institute, the representative of the scientific staff takes part in institute meetings, acts as a contact person for all questions and needs of the scientific staff, and provides information at regular intervals about important questions and developments that are discussed in the BMS, CPTS or HSS and are of concern to the scientists.
At the section level, the representatives take part in the section meetings and represent the diverse interests of the academic staff in the various committees (scientific council, perspective commission, appointment committees, core committees, and other bodies). Furthermore, at each section one representative of the scientific staff representatives is elected into the Senate.
Vertreter*innen der wissenschaftlichen Mitarbeiter*innen
Die Vertreter*in der wissenschaftlichen Mitarbeiter*innen wird alle drei Jahre von den wissenschaftlichen Mitarbeiter*innen des jeweiligen Instituts gewählt und vom Präsidenten der Max-Planck-Gesellschaft bestätigt. Sie/er vertritt die Interessen und Belange aller Wissenschaftler*innen, sowohl gegenüber der Institutsleitung als auch in der jeweiligen Sektion (BMS, CPTS, GSHS) der MPG, in die sie/er für die dreijährige Periode qua Amt aufgenommen wird.
Innerhalb des jeweiligen Instituts nimmt die Vertreter*in der wissenschaftlichen Mitarbeiter*innen etwa an Institutsbesprechungen teil, fungiert als Ansprechpartner*in für alle Fragen und Bedürfnisse der wissenschaftlichen Mitarbeiter*innen und informiert in regelmäßigen Abständen über wichtige Fragen und Entwicklungen, die in der BMS, CPTS oder GSHS diskutiert werden und für die Wissenschaftler*innen von Belang sind.
Auf Sektionsebene nehmen die Vertreter*innen an den Sektionssitzungen teil und vertreten in den verschiedenen Gremien (wissenschaftlicher Rat, Perspektivenkommission, Berufungskommissionen, Stammkommissionen und andere Organe) die vielfältigen Interessen der wissenschaftlichen Mitarbeiter*innen. Aus dem Kreis der wissenschaftlichen Mitarbeitervertreter*innen wird eine Person aus jeder Sektion in den Senat gewählt.
